What schools do you serve?
  • Fry elementary and Peterson elementary in district 204
What ages are in Cub Scouts?
  • 1st grade – 5th grade
  • The boys are organized into dens by grade level instead of age
What is a den?
  • A small group of boys in the same grade level
  • Dens typically have between 3 – 10 boys
What are the ranks?
  • 1st graders earn Tiger
  • 2nd graders earn Wolf
  • 3rd graders earn Bear
  • 4th graders earn Webelos
  • 5th graders earn Arrow of Light
  • Bobcat is earned after Tiger or upon joining
Meeting info (When, where)
  • Pack Meetings
    Wheatland Salem United Methodist Church
    1852 W. 95th St., Naperville, IL
    Once a month, typically the 3rd Monday
    7-8pm

  • Den meetings
    Typically 2 – 4 times / month
    Schedule set by each den
What are your dues
  • Pack dues: $50 / year (discount for brothers)
  • Den dues: Set by each den
When can I go to camp?
  • We participate in 3 camps during the summer
  • As well we plan at least 1 overnighter at other times during the year
Who do I contact?
How is Scouting organized?       Scouting is organized as shown below:
  • Pack
    • Packs are groups of boys in 1st – 5th grades
    • Packs typically serve a few elementary schools.

  • Charter Organization
    • Packs are chartered by a non-profit group.
    • They provide meeting facilities and oversight for packs

  • District
    • Each pack is a member of a district.
    • A district is a group of packs in the same small geographic area.
    • Districts handle training and put on some events in local communities

  • Council
    • Each council has many districts in it
    • Councils own and manage camps, run scout stores, have full time staff

  • BSA or National
    • Boy Scouts of America national organization
    • Sets overall policy.
